"Last minute reservations and the staff and hotel were amazing"

"Convenient to go to Malioboro and for buying small groceries, affordable meals. Hotel is at the back of the fancier Mercure hotel, a bit dated but the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet was delicious and offered variety. However, the towels were gray and thinning, there were stains on the bathroom walls, but worse of all was the pool that was surrounded by tarpaulin walls and not at all like the pictures. "

"The staff are amazing. BUT. There is a smoking section of the hotel and the pipes connect, so I had to keep my fan on in my bathroom (which meant also the light) constantly to pull the cigarette smoke that was coming through the pipes out of my room. One night before I did that I was WOKEN UP BY COUGHING, it was that thick in my room, three floors away from the smoking floors. Even next to the pool people just smoke and drop their butts on the ground. The hotel should be non-smoking, of course. There are also these terrible "perfume" things in the elevators that squirt out disgusting artificial smells. And none of the room windows open. However the staff was absolutely amazing. So kind and considerate and helpful. "
