Samkhya Villas

"Our Villa, #12 at the end of the property was amazing. From daily breakfast in our villa to tea time each afternoon the service was wonderful. We loved the courtyard and pool which were almost completely private, except for a rafting business across the river. The employes are all very friendly and attentive. They assisted us with dinner and spa reservations when needed, and there is a free shuttle into Ubud The property grounds are clean and beautiful. There is one problem that could be addressed. We loved the outdoor shower however the bathroom floor as well as the wood deck by the pool are extremely slippery when wet, and quite dangerous. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay near Ubud. There are many good restaurants and spas nearby as well."

"We had a wonderful stay at Samkhya Villas for our honeymoon. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the view of the rice paddy field and private pool. The breakfast was tasty and different each day. I highly recommend taking advantage of the spa and getting a massage! We had fun taking the golf cart down the hill and they give you a phone to call when you are ready so its not too much of an annoyance. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Their driver Wayan is nice and knowledgeable about Bali. He showed us around for two days when we were there and we learned so much from him. Overall great stay and we would return!"

"A quaint hotel far away from the busy Ubud center. The design of the hotel is very sweet and lovely. Great for a couple who in on a romantic holiday. The reception staff is fantastic and very helpful. Also so fantastic to have available 24 hours a day. They packed me an early boxed breakfast when I left for a sunrise activity. It's not as great for a solo traveler, though. The peace and quiet comes with a price of being relatively far from the activities of Ubud. The free shuttle is wonderful but it has limited times so you are dependent on taxis to get you back to the hotel. Every taxi driver I engaged didn't know where the hotel was. Even with the address to provide for google maps. You can pay a small fee for a hotel driver to take you to the town center during non-shuttle times which is nice. One reason I booked this hotel was to relax and use the private pool. Even though it was July, it was too cold to use so the pool was just something to look at, not use. I spoke with some other guests and they had the same issue. Be advised that the hotel is set back off of the street so you need to take a very bumpy golf cart ride to/from hotel reception to the street where you then pick up the taxi or the shuttle, and vice versa. They do provide a cell phone pager to call the front desk once you're at the pick up point so they send a cart. That is also avail 24 hours a day. It's not a problem but it does feel a little like you can't just be independent. "

"We stayed here for the first couple days of our honeymoon and it was so amazing. The property is tucked away on the back. It is very quiet and relaxing. We loved having our own little private pool and the staff was absolutely amazing. They are so friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again :) one thing to note you can not get to it by car. There is a golf cart that comes up to the street to take you down. "

"Everything about my experience at Samkhya Villas was phenomenal. They went above and beyond in every aspect to make sure we were comfortable and happy with everything. Very private villas, you can't hear any other guest or staff. Whenever we needed to get somewhere or up to the town, they were there waiting and ready. Their service was genuine, kind and outstanding. Every staff member was punctual and helpful. All the activities we did were booked through the villa and they were wonderful, not to touristy and just the right amount of time. They had great ideas on what to do and see and knew how to set it up just right. I can not rave enough about how wonderful our experience here was!!! "

"Charming private villa in a secluded resort overlooking the rice paddys. Accessible only by golf cart from the main road. I was traveling solo and felt very safe and attended to. Convenient shuttles into Ubud daily. Great place to get away from it all. The staff was beyond measure. Loved my stay. "

"We stayed at samkhya villa for 10 days and it was amazing, besides the occasional animal noises and redundant breakfast. You cannot drive into the villa but can call for pickup at the main road. Staff was more than accommodating and friendly. We stayed in villa 4 and had a view of the rice fields. Free shuttle to the ubud center is provided, however, we used the villa's taxi which is approx. $6 USD to take us a little farther at times. The villa is away from the hustle and bustle and we appreciated the lack of horn honking and vehicle smog. Because it's away from the center of Ubud, the air is cleaner and cooler. We would definitely book again in the future. "
