"Small boutique property with beautiful grounds, excellent service, spacious and very private villas with private pools. It is best for very quiet, relaxing, secluded type of vacations, even though Playa del Carmen is only a short taxi drive away. I think they strike a great balance between eco friendliness, nature and comfort. They have a very nice SPA as well "
"I just got home from Viceroy last night - I loved the quiet atmosphere of the resort, but at times it seemed too quiet. I’m not sure if it was the time of year I went, but there was at most 3 other people out at the pool/beach. It was raining off and on, so maybe that’s why too. Otherwise, the service and staff were amazing and went above and beyond every single interaction. The walking distance from my room to the common areas was not bad at all and the hotel has many umbrella stations around for when it is raining. There are a lot of animals, granted it is in the jungle, but there were multiple around the plunge pool, very frequently throughout the day. The food and drinks were okay, not bad, but I have had better at other resorts. Overall, I would go back, but maybe a different time of year with (hopefully) better weather since it rained literally every day of my stay. "
